Between June 2022 and March 2023 the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust have funding available to support landowners with natural flood management measures and woodland creation projects throughout the Derwent Catchment. This funding supports the work of our Derwent Connections Project; a programme designed to reduce flooding by supporting local communities, landowners and individuals, to introduce nature-based solutions to flooding in their area.
By working together with you on your land we can help to reduce the risk of flooding throughout the Derwent Catchment.
Throughout this process you will be supported by one of our Living Landscape Advisors, who will work with you to make the most out of your land to help prevent flooding at whatever scale is suitable for your needs. During this process working with our specialised team of advisors you will be supported and funded to develop your land for flood management. This could range from creating boundaries on your land with more water permeable solutions like native hedgerows right through to flood modelling to develop water storage systems, wetlands and woodland creation, we have a level to suit your land usage.
If you own or manage land in Derbyshire and would like to work with us on woodland creation or natural flood management measures, get in touch by filling out simple form:
Once you have filled out the details of your land in our form your details will be sent to:

We look forward to working with you!
