Recent sightings from the reserve have included on 30th 23 Teal, 25 Red-legged Partridges, 12 Cormorants including a flock of seven north, an adult Little Egret, Common Sandpiper and Spotted Redshank. On 31st no sign of the Spotted Redshank but it was back by late afternoon. Also on 31st 91 Mallard, 24 Gadwall, 21 Teal, 18 Common Buzzards including a flock of nine, adult and juvenile Little Egret, Common Sandpiper, two Snipe, 30 Stock Doves, Peregrine, Lesser Whitethroat and a very fleeting view of a Common Redstart as it flew across the track. 1st September (lunchtime visit so not the best time of the day here) produced 28 Teal, three Little Egrets, 11 Buzzards, Hobby, Common Sandpiper and Spotted Redshank.
