The 19th was a good morning with four groups of Whooper Swans (totalling 26) logged. 18 flew north-west at 0900 followed by two north at 0910, an adult north at 0950 and then five adults south-east at 1107. Also 110 Pink-footed Geese flew west south of the recording area and 40 more were reported by a dog walker which we managed to miss, 138 Wigeon was the highest count of the winter, 21 Gadwall and 48 Teal were counted, a pair of Goosander flew south, 34 Pheasants were flushed by the local shoot, 18 Golden Plover in flight only, Peregrine and the usual Marsh Tit.
