Water levels remain high on the reserve but access is now possible to all areas without wellies. There is a bumper crop of berries throughout the reserve hedgerows, and this has attracted noisey flocks of Redwing, although other passerines were in short supply. Migrant hawker dragonflies are still on the wing in small numbers, with even one pair still in cop. Waterbird counts were 3 Little Grebe, 10 Great crested Grebe, 25 Cormorant, 4 Little Egret, 13 Grey Heron, 10 Mute Swan, 15 Canada Goose, 25 Wigeon, 27 Gadwall, 80 Teal, 57 Mallard, 27 Shoveler, 1 male Pochard, 164 Tufted Duck, 1 Water Rail, 4 Moorhen, 65 Coot, 180 Lapwing, 4 Snipe, 120 Black-headed Gull, and 1 Common Gull. 7 Cettis Warbler were calling.
