Very quiet on the reserve today with lower numbers of birds than would normally be expected at this time of year; probably due to disturbance from the willow burning yesterday evening. Birds of note included a female Goosander, 20 Grey Heron, 35 Pochard, 16 Goldeneye, and a flyover Collared Dove (my first for the reserve).

Full count 1 Little Grebe, 11 Great Crested Grebe, 55 Cormorant, 20 Grey Heron, 9 Mute Swan, 15 Canada Goose, 20 Wigeon, 17 Gadwall, 18 Teal, 44 Mallard, 7 Shoveler, 35 Pochard, 239 Tufted Duck, 16 Goldeneye, 1 Goosander, 3 Moorhen, 87 Coot, 10 Lapwing, 1 Snipe, 1 Kingfisher, 230 Black-headed Gull, 3 Common Gull and 5 Lesser Black-backed Gull.
