Since the Marsh Harrier sighting on 9th it's been pretty quiet on the patch with todays (13th) highlights being distant Hobby and Peregrine, five Teal, Water Rail calling, the first Golden Plover of the autumn, four Snipe, Common Sandpiper, 100 House Martins, Lesser Whitethroat and 14 Yellow Wagtails south. On 10th 31 Gadwall, seven Teal, two Water Rails plus the usual’s whilst on 11th the highlight was a Dunlin (yes it's been that slow!). On 12th Gadwall numbered 33, a Peregrine was seen and 17 Yellow Wagtails were counted flying from the reserve into the sewage works. Very slow at the moment.
