On 12th a juvenile circled briefly calling but could not land because HS2 reptile surveyors were on the Middle Flash and they also flushed a Little Egret. First decent morning of viz mig with 102 Meadow Pipits, Tree Pipit and four Grey Wagtails south in three hours. Other birds on the reserve / in the area included Green Sandpiper, Hobby, Peregrine, 100 House Martins and a Yellow Wagtail. On 13th the first juvenile / female Pintail early morning only, male Shoveler, Green Sandpiper, a latish Swift, Hobby and seven Grey Wagtails (two of which went south, two went west and three didn't know what they wanted to do). Another reasonable visible migration day with 136 Meadow Pipits south along with ten Chaffinch, 11 Goldfinch and nine Siskins plus the first Sky Lark south-west for the autumn (in four hours).
