OK so I was wrong in my assertion that the colour ringed Mediterranean Gull was from Germany! Just had an email which confirms that my bird was was of four that have green rings on that start ASS and that these were all ringed on 16th June 2016 in southern Sweden. Three of the four have been reported since so we really need to see the full code on our bird to see if it's the outstanding fourth bird or one of the other three. Now of course it would help if the bird had remained at CV this morning but no sign of it or yesterdays Goldeneye in four hours this morning. Birds of note today included 45 Pink-footed Geese NW (two skeins), a male Pochard, seven Goosander south, three Water Rails, Marsh Tit, Cetti's Warbler (at least one probably two), minimum of four, possibly five Chiffchaffs and four Grey Wagtails.
