Update for the past week and as I was away the info is Ian’s and Phil’s (not forgetting Nigel’s Common Gull contribution!). On 20th three Whooper Swans north at 0830, 400 Pink-footed Geese (250 and 150) north-west at 1025, three Goosander (1M, 2F) north, Barn Owl and Peregrine. Nothing of note on 21st but on 22nd 133 Wigeon, three (1M, 2F) Shoveler (new for the year) and Peregrine. On 23rd just the aforementioned Common Gull but nothing else whilst on 24th five Grey Lag Geese west, female Goosander and Common Gull again whilst the Marsh Tit was seen daily during the week unlike Chiffchaffs which weren’t. On 25th 123 Wigeon, 28 Gadwall, 63 Teal, Water Rail seen by dipping platform and 700 Wood Pigeons. After an absence of 14 days the Siberian Chiffchaff (or I suppose it could be another as prior to me going away the embankment was covered every day looking for Chiffchaffs with only one or two Chiffchaffs and nothing resembling the Sibe) was back in the bramble patch along with a nominate chiffchaff.
