THE NEIGHBOURHOOD NATURE PLAN

What is the Neighbourhood Nature Plan?

Right now, people across Derbyshire are getting together to decide their local priorities for nature. Will you join us?

It is critical that there is a strong and diverse voice for nature during the 2024 General Election. The Neighbourhood Nature Plan will support people and groups at a local level to hold Nature Forums to decide on their priorities for nature, to campaign effectively for these, and to hold elected MPs to account for delivery.

Why is it important for communities to get involved?

Now is a critical time for wildlife. In 2024 there will be a general election. It may well be the most important of our lives. The next government will either be responsible for the turnaround for nature and climate, or for failure leading to catastrophic collapse.

Nature is important to all of us in so many different ways. Maybe you are worried about flooding or the loss of species. Perhaps you want clean rivers to swim in, or to fish from. Nature could be vital to you as a farmer, or because you draw your living from the land. Or maybe you like to walk, run, climb or ride in a landscape that is thriving. Or is there a specific place, important to you, that needs restoration or protection?

Whatever your connection to nature, or your worries and concerns, the Neighbourhood Nature Plan is your chance to have your say, and to join your voice with thousands of others across Derbyshire.

The Neighbourhood Nature Plan Coalition

The Neighbourhood Nature Plan is supported by a coalition of Derbyshire organisations, or the local chapters of national organisations. Together we represent thousands of people across the county who rely on and love local nature, and who want to see strong action to stop the nature crisis.
