About the event

The course is ideal for those wishing to know more about our native butterfly species and offers the opportunity to practice new skills in their identification. You will also learn and use established techniques in surveying, ideal for anyone wanting to record sightings for themselves or record more formally as part of a transect. The course is largely outdoors, so please dress for the weather.

Mobility

There is little walking on site on marked paths with just a short walk necessary to where you will survey. All areas are flat.

What to bring

As most of the session will take place outdoors, please dress for the weather and have appropriate outdoor footwear. You may also wish to bring lunch with you. There is a cafe on site at Carsington Water Visitor Centre.

Parking information

Free parking at Carsington Visitor Centre for those attending the course. You will need to provide your vehicle's registration at reception on the day in order to claim free parking, otherwise you may be liable for a penalty charge.
