Wild Peak Community Fund

Are you wanting to make a real change to your local area? We have a fantastic opportunity for you to get financial support for projects that make a huge difference to your local area, communities and can help restore nature across the Peak District.

Apply for the Wild Peak Community Fund Today

1. Natural Flood Management

If you are within the Derwent River Catchment, you could be eligible for wetland and woodland creation through the Derwent Living Forest project. This includes supervised work-parties for the digging of ponds and scrapes, and the planting of trees, as well as professional wetland and woodland planning for larger projects. Their engagement team are happy to attend events and connect you with local community groups. Read more below, or contact the team:

Upscaling your project

The best way to upscale your project is in collaboration with neighbours. Contact Wild Peak to hear more about the Nature Recovery Network and connect with like-minded land-managers in your area to work towards landscape-scale restoration of natural processes.

The Peak District has an Access Economy, could you be benefitting from nature-based tourism? Explore our Video Archive for a nature-based tourism workshop with local case studies. Attract visitors who want to experience nature connection, and will fund it.

Considering a species reintroduction? As your habitat creation matures into the management of wild space, you could give a home to a lost species such as a beaver, rare butterfly or osprey. Contact Wild Peak to explore your options and navigate the reintroduction process.

For further information and resources on rewilding at any scale, consider also joining the Rewilding Britain Network. Read more on their website or contact network@rewildingbritin.org.uk
