Fly Agaric, Elliott Neep
As to be expected at this time of year the Reserve was very quiet.
Recent reports are of badger (twice in broad daylight), field mouse and several rabbit kits are now above ground.
It looked healthy and agile.
Sedge warblers seem to have become quieter with only 3 heard.
Not a bad morning today at Carr Vale .
I also heard greenfinches in several places, skylarks across the river and the peregrine falcon calling over the football ground.
On a bright and sunny morning with very little wind and a starting temperature of 18 rising to 27 degrees by the end of my visit.
Flying around in quite significant numbers.
Tern on Swan Lake.
The highlight, without doubt, was the finding of a Hairy Dragonfly.
